Concept exploration for Apple Sports.

Concept Description — Apple Sports
Apple Sports is a new social layer built around the way friends and families play, compete, and stay active. It brings together game results, upcoming events, activity insights, and Apple’s existing services to create a single, connected sports experience.
At the top level, users can share and catch up on recent game results, highlight photos, and season updates in a clean home tab designed for quick scanning. An Upcoming Games feature automatically surfaces events from people you care about—timely, relevant, and integrated with your existing calendar. Planning a trip in iCal? Apple Sports proactively notifies you if someone you know has a game nearby.
Inside the app, each profile highlights real activity and progress. Game cards show details like location, opponent, season context, and scores, while team posts and win records let friends stay looped in without needing multiple apps or group chats.
A dedicated Compete section introduces a weekly leaderboard that displays friends’ activity data—calories burned, movement, and overall effort—encouraging friendly competition. It’s simple, motivating, and powered directly by Apple Health.
Where Apple Sports becomes truly powerful is how naturally it blends with Apple’s ecosystem:
- • iMessage: Chat, share results, and celebrate wins without leaving the app.
- • Health: Surface deeper insights into friends’ fitness levels and weekly output.
- • Calendar: Intelligent nudges based on travel plans or local events.
- • Contacts: Instantly discover which contacts are on Apple Sports and add them as friends.
- • Maps: Tap an upcoming game to get precise directions—no extra steps.
The concept centers around connection—bringing people closer through the sports they play and follow every week. Apple Sports turns casual participation into meaningful shared moments, powered by thoughtful design and tight ecosystem integration.
